I can’t explain to you how excited I am about having the Dynaudio Core Studio Monitor line in my store. I can already sense that many people will think that having professional studio speakers in a garage is absurd. Those people are probably right. However, as with many things at Obsessed Garage, we’re taking professional-grade products and figuring out if they make sense for an application they’re not intended for.

There is something about Studio Monitor that just sounds great in a garage environment that wouldn't typically be ideal for audio. I previously had the Core 59s in my garage, but If I was tight on space, I wouldn't hesitate to swap them out for the Core 5s. Below, you'll find some key features and specs that I believe are important.

  • Powerful Amplification: Equipped with twin 280W class-D Pascal amplifiers—one for the mid/woofer and one for the tweeter—ensuring robust performance and accurate sound reproduction.

  • Precision Drivers: A 28mm Cerotar Pro tweeter and a 5-inch MSP woofer offer a wide frequency range, delivering detailed sound up to 30kHz and precise bass down to 45Hz.

  • Advanced DSP Technology: Includes dual DSP filters to adapt to different placements and environments. Modes like ‘Desk’, ‘Anechoic’, and ‘Soffit’ help tailor the sound, while 'Bright', 'Neutral', and 'Dark' settings adjust overall presentation.

  • Input Sensitivity Control: Offers flexibility with both analogue and digital inputs. Adjust the maximum analogue input level between 0dBu and +24dBu, or set the maximum output SPL for optimal bit-depth listening. Digital inputs can be precisely managed with AES3 channel selection and clock synchronization.
