N-914 Does one thing and one thing only: clean your car
I'm not a big rinseless or waterless wash person, but I understand the need for it, and I'll use it when needed. Before jumping into N-914, let's talk about the old solution. ONR. I wasn't a huge fan of Optimum ONR because of the fact it had polymers in it & wasn't just a pure cleaner (Think of car shampoos with stupid wax in them).
After getting a lot of input from the guys at work and from some Obsessed Garage fans like Daniel Guss, we've decided to use McKee's 37 N-914 rinseless solution.
The idea behind using McKee's 37 N-914 is that it's formulated with a highly advanced surfactant that does one thing and one thing only: clean your car without leaving a film behind that alters the look or water beading and sheeting characteristics of your wax, sealant, or coating. At Obsessed Garage, we believe in having one product that does its one job and it's the best we've found at doing that one job. Why would I want my waterless/rinseless wash to have waxes or polymers in it when I'm going to go around the car afterward with what I consider the best drying aid/sealant to clean up any leftover water. This process allows you to use whatever last step protectant works best with your coating, sealant, or wax.
Rinseless Wash:
If you want to use N-914 as a rinseless wash you'll use 1 ounce of N-914 for every 2 gallons of water (1:256), 3 capfuls of N-914 equals one ounce. So if you're going to use our 6 gallon bucket with the full 6 gallons you'll need 9 capfuls of N-914. Distilled or filtered water is recommended but not necessary.
Waterless Wash/Pre-Soak:
If you want to mix up a pre-soak or waterless wash solution you'll use 1 ounce of N-914 for every one gallon of water (1:128). That comes to 3 capfuls for every gallon of water. Distilled or filtered water is recommended but not necessary.
Clay Lube:
If you want to use N-914 as a clay lube, you'll use the same dilution as a waterless wash (1:128) 1 ounce to a gallon (3 capfuls in a gallon of water). Distilled or filtered water is recommended but not necessary.
Paint Prep:
You can also use N-914 as a paint prep before applying a coating or sealant. You'll need to mix up 1 ounce (3 capfuls) of N-914 with 8 ounces of water (1:8). This mixture will help you remove any polishing oils from your freshly corrected paint surface and allow better adhesion to the paint surface. Distilled or filtered water is recommended but not necessary.

*We do recommend you measure how much a capful is; due to current supply shortages, bottles and caps can be slightly different.
