There’s a reason why I’m calling this our ultimate package. I’ve been an advocate of Dynaudio for many years, especially when it comes to the Core studio monitors we’re offering in this package.
I’ve talked about how harsh the garage is when it comes to audio being in there. It’s not the best place for any kind of speaker, but what I’ve discovered is when you have a speaker that comes equipped with a silk dome and a very controlled esotar pro tweeter combined with the smoothness you specifically get from a Dynaudio MSP mid-bass or bass driver, they do exceptionally well in a less than ideal listening atmosphere. These are so good.
I’ve gone into greater detail with the entire Dynaudio Core line as well as the Bluesound Node - be sure to check those videos out. I want you to buy all this expensive stuff, but I also want you to be well informed about what you’re getting and how it all works.
If you are looking for a complete setup that also includes a subwoofer (what I recommend), head over to the Ultimate Dynaudio Studio Monitor Solution.
So, first, you’re going to select your speaker. In this package, we’re offering the full Dynaudio Core line - that’s the Core 7’s, Core 47’s, and Core 59’s (my pick). What distinguishes the three is the Core 7’s have a 7” woofer, single 1” tweeter, the Core 47’s have a 7” woofer, 4” mid-bass driver with a 1” tweeter, and the big boy Core 59’s have a 9” driver, 5” mid-range, 1” tweeter. They all have the class-D Pascal amplifier that gives the 9” long-excursion woofer more grip on the bottom without sacrificing deep frequency response. In other words, these have some pretty serious amplification, which is perfect for the garage.
Secondly, you have to decide what preamp/DAC (Digital Analog Converter) you want to go with or what do you want to use to process the signal. The two choices you’ll have in this package are the 1) Bluesound Node or 2) NAD 658. The main difference between the two is the internal circuitry. The C658 is a bigger power supply, it’s going to sound better, and it also has XLR connections, so you can go directly from this unit into your Core speakers without using an adaptor. The C658 also has room correction (Dirac Live) that analyzes any room (in this case the garage) for maximum performance. Having this room correction ability can make a significant difference especially in the garage with metal cabinets, concrete floors, glass, etc.
I keep saying this, but this is a super simple setup. It sounds like a lot, but I’m telling you, once you get everything out of the box, laid out, and begin to put it all together, you’ll be up and running in no time.
This is truly the ultimate package. If you’re looking to have a similar setup as mine, this is it. Be sure to check out the video above for a deep dive into all of this stuff as well as how to set it up.
